• Multiple fibers on one natural lash per the category guidelines
• Diameters allowed are .03, .05 and .07
• Maximum length 14mm
• Fans between 2D – 15D are permitted
• The health and safety of the natural lash must be considering when create the size of the fans 
• Pre-made fans are not permitted, only NovaLash American Volume, London Volume or Auto Fan Mix Camellia extensions are allowed.
• Models should not wear any eye makeup in the before and after photos
• Black extensions only

TERMS & CONDITIONS PLUS RULES FOR ENTERING:

• Lash artists must be NovaLash certified
• Artists must also be certified in the category they are entering – for example classic certified to enter with classic lashes or either American Volume or London Volume certified to enter with volume lashes
• All entrance videos and photos are property of NovaLash and can be used in future marketing, social media and advertising campaigns 
• The competition welcomes all levels of NovaLash artists 
• Competitors and models must be at least 16 years old
• To complete the registration process, entrants must have fully completed all forms and uploaded the correct documents
• Models must understand their images will be used by NovaLash
• NovaLash has the right to change the prizes or competition rules or details at any time
• There is no cash equivalent prize besides the listed value amount of winning a category
• Before and after photos of models must be without makeup. In the video the model can have makeup applied
• All products used should be labelled. All NovaLash products come with labels clearly applied to the products  
• The NovaLash products used in the video must be displayed in the video
• No paper or foam tape is allowed on the before and after photos or in the video
• Only NovaLash gel pads and/or under eye stickers are allowed to be used in the video
• No lash mapping can be used or numbers written on the gel pads
• The glove technique must be used in the video – use of a jade stone or lashes on a tray/pallet/client’s forehead are grounds for elimination. If entering with classic lashes the vinyl pad can be used to hold the extensions along with the glove method
• In the video, the step-by-step NovaLash application method must be clearly used. Please refer to your manual for any questions regarding the proper steps
• Isolating a natural lash first, then picking up an extension or making a fan is grounds for elimination 
• Enough adhesive must be used in the video
• Drying should either be performing with the AirNova utilizing air, a mist of water and more air or the use of the miniMr and mini fan – any other tools or accessories from other brands in the video is grounds for elimination
• Clean separation must be demonstrated in the video
• Videos that are out of focus or with poor video and audio quality is grounds for elimination
• Aftercare products must be shown, explained and given to the model in the video
• The service needs to be completed on an appropriate massage bed or lashing chair
• A good light source or lamp must be used
• Sanitizing of the tools must be shown in the video
• Hand sanitizer should be used, and a mask worn by the lash artist

JUDGING CRITERIA AND AVAILABLE:

Maximum Score: 75 points (5 points for each below subject)

• Artist introduction (name, location, business, NL journey)
• Client welcome (consultation and consent form)
• Treatment space (clean area and lashing materials visible) 
• Sanitation methods and hygiene 
• Gel pads and/or under eye stickers applied correctly 
• Glove Technique demonstration 
• Multiple length bonding technique 
• Isolation performed correctly 
• Correct adhesive usage 
• Separation process 
• Proper drying method 
• Correct curl, length, and style were chosen to complement the model’s face shape and structure
• Before and after results 
• Aftercare and retail products provided 
• Audio and video are clear, in focus and edited with no copywrite music 

EXPLANATION OF JUDGING:

Judging is based on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Judges’ scores are final. 

Judges are not allowed to communicate with contestants about the competition prior to and during the months of decision making.  

Each judge will score all the categories, then an average score of all the judges will be calculated to discover the overall scores.

Should there be a tie for first place, the judges will review the tied submissions and select a winner through a majority vote.
